Team Building

The term 'team building'  refers to the selection and motivation of individuals who will work together toward a common goal.  Many teams will use assessment tools to gauge their effectiveness. The process of team building includes, clarifying the goal, and building ownership across the team and identifying the inhibitors to teamwork and removing or overcoming them, or if they cannot be removed, mitigating their negative effect on the team.  Team members should continuously seek feedback to improve performance toward the achievement of its stated goals.  Team building should not be viewed as having a finite conclusion, but instead it is an ongoing process.
