Different types of word serve different functions in sentences. Being able to identify nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, and so forth helps you to use those words correctly and write clear, grammatically correct documents. This course serves as the first building block for the remaining courses of the series.

 

You'll learn to identify the eight parts of speech as they are used in sentences:

		Nouns		Adverbs
		Pronouns		Prepositions
		Verbs		Conjunctions
		Adjectives		Interjections

 

You will also learn how to use adjective and adverb modifiers, complements, appositives, expletives, and nouns of direct address.

 

This course builds the foundations you need to master other rules of grammar such as subject-verb agreement, punctuation, proper tenses and moods, and consistent viewpoint.
